Wildflowers

Wildflowers are blooming at The Happy Quilter. Here's a pic from the March 30 class of Debbie Calyo's version. She made a small wallhanging.

Here's another version of the Wildflower quilt that Debbie made for a quilt challenge. She embellished it with crystals.

This last photo is a close up of one of the blocks on Debbie's challenge quilt. Notice that she replaced the embroidery in the center of the flower with crystals. This picture does not do justice to the block!

It's a Lemonade Party!

In honor of the recent trip to The Great American Quilt Factory by Peggy and Maureen, we decided to have a Lemonade Party! Remember when Maureen and Peggy met Nancy Smith and Lynda Milligan? Well.... this was their book - the book we used for the Lemonade class.

So in honor of the recent visit to their wonderful quilt shop, we thought we'd post photos of our Lemonade class quilts.

Here's Peggy's - and she promised to send more photos of the others she made. We think she made 4!!!

This is Bethany's (but you all know what that looks like because it was the sample for the class).

Send a photo of yours to bethany@happyquilter.com and we'll add it to this post. We want to see how they all came out so.... join in the Lemonade party!!!

Janice's Jamison's Workshop

Peggy and Maureen took another trip (they sure are doing lots of traveling!) to Janice's studio. Many of you like to have Janice quilt your quilt tops. Now you can take a look at her work place. She says she did not clean for company - that it always looks like this! :-)

Great American Quilt Factory

Maureen and Peggy accompanied their husbands to Denver, Colorado this past week. They went to a couple of places, one was the Great American Quilt Factory. Little did they know that it is also the home of "Possibilities", which are books published by Nancy Smith and Lynda Milligan - remember "Lemonade"?!? They came out to sign books for both of them and then took them in the back on a tour of their store. They saw where they design and make their samples and put together kits. There are shelves and shelves full of samples!

They agreed to take a picture of Maureen and Peggy so we could put it on the Happy Quilter blog as long as they can do the same at www.greatamericanquilt.blogspot.com. They even said if they are out in New York that they might stop by the Happy Quilter.

They also went to Molly Brown's historical Victorian home. She was a woman who was involved in woman's rights and also survived the Titanic.

They saw the Red Rock's Amphitheatre, which is a natural amphitheater made of rock.

You can tell it was a great time - and the weather was wonderful -- 72 degrees!

What talent!

Syndi has done a beautiful job on the Wickersham quilt in a class with Barbara Khan.

And Look what magic Marcy has been doing the on the 830. Check out the size of this design. We put the spool of thread there so you can get an idea of the size - with no re-hooping!
