Top is Finished
Here's Gloria and her quilt after putting the pieced borders on. Yippee! This quilt was a lot of fun - a very cool technique.

Class Photos
Anne Marie has been one busy Happy Quilter. Here she is with her quilt from Fran's Scrappy Asian class....

And this is from Bethany's Square Dance class (before borders, but we're sure she's already finished those, too).
Gloria did a scrappy version! Check out the circle of blue/purple pinwheels in the design!

A Customer Request
A customer who is in need of an embroidery module for the Bernina 185 has contacted our shop. Bernina no longer makes this module and has sold out of their demo models as well, so we can't be of any help at the shop. It occurred to us that there might be someone out there who could help, so..... if you have this embroidery module and are interested in selling it, please contact the store and we will give your information to the "customer in need of the 185 module" so she can contact you directly.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Spring Market Teasers
Here are a couple of photos of a new fabric line that will be coming to the shop any minute now.

This is a really fun kids print that will be coming. And check out the kid's pattern we ordered!

Today we started putting out some of the patterns and books that we brought back from market. Stop by and check them out. We've been moving things around a bit, too. And here's a photo of a fun project we'll be bringing into the shop - a toothbrush rug?! More details coming......

How Exciting!!
We've just returned from market and it was a blast!!! We ordered lots and lots of beautiful fabric (now to make room for it all...) and found some really smashing ideas for upcoming projects. Come back for more photos.......
Here are a few photos of some new Bernina products that we're just going to have to have in the shop. This power button and light for the Bernina Frame are just too useful to pass up, so we'll be ordering them for our frame. The power button is just where you need it so you never have to take your hands off the frame.

This is a cool, grooved tool into which you place a stylus and follow the groove so that your pattern is just perfect every time.
And hanging on the display is the luggage for the 820/830!! We took a look at the Tuttos (the XXL is what is recommended for these machines) and after having seen them we are so glad to see what Bernina has developed! It's more compact, MUCH easier to load with that big zippered flap, and MUCH MUCH easier to pick up because you can put your arm through that hole in the middle and safely pick up the machine this way rather than have to lift it from the handles on the side. It seems like it is going to be much more secure for travel in this piece of luggage as well. Bernina is hoping that it will be available in June sometime (not a promise but a target) and we will let you know as soon as it is available.

Off to Quilt Market
Selena and Bethany are taking off for Pittsburgh on Friday AM to spend the weekend at quilt market. They will get to see ALL that is new and wonderful in the quilt world and do some ordering for the shop. Bernina will be there with all the new goodies - the 830 and 820, the quilt frame, the new cabinet for the 830, maybe even the really neat traveling suitcase for the 830/820 (it looks like a donut with the hole in the center). Come back in the beginning of next week and we'll share some photos.

Northern Star Guild Show
We'd like to offer a big thank you to all of you who visited us at the show in Somers NY this past weekend. The show was full of beautiful quilts and loaded with wonderful vendors as well. We had a wonderful time seeing good friends along with meeting lots of new quilters, too. Our teachers won a number of ribbons for their work as well: Raina with 2 ribbons, and Barbara, Maria and Bethany each took one ribbon - a great showing for the Happy Quilter teachers. Here are a few photos to enjoy.
