Brownstone Guild Show

What do all these quilts have in common? They are all hanging in the Brownstone show this weekend AND they all came into being because of a class at the Happy Quilter!! There are teacher and students quilts in this beautiful collection, and some of them have ribbons! The show runs from 10 - 4 on Saturday, November 7th and you can get directions here. Come to the show, stop by the Happy Quilter booth, and then see all the beautiful quilts in the show.

Table Runner

Peggy made this cute table runner from the Autumn Gatherings book. That's the book that has Forest Floor and Leaf Pile. There are so many wonderful patterns in this book - it's been flying out of the shop as fast as we get it in!

Gloria brought this quilt for us to admire!! Blue work bluebirds!

And she set them with some pinwheel blocks she had stashed in the closet that worked prefectly.

Maureen was in a pumpkin mood..

and there were a few laughs in the evening as well.

Janice came and taught a terrific class on making three-dimensional cubes. Look what MaryJane has done with her cubes. First is a photo without all the borders.....

We're going to have a little fun on August 20th to celebrate the Bernina 820 machine. Bethany will be showing some of the features of the machine, and we'll be setting up the quilt frame so you can see how much fun it is to play with it there as well!!! More information will be coming soon, but we wanted to let you know so you can save that date.

Paula Nadelstern on CBS

Word has it that barring any unforeseen occurrences, CBS Sunday Morning will air a segment featuring Paula Nadelstern's exhibit: Kaleidoscope Quilts: The Art of Paula Nadelstern at the American Folk Art Museum, next Sunday, August 16th (9AM, ET). Some of you might remember when she did a workshop for the HQ on her techniques. It's wonderful to see Paula's amazing work get the recognition it deserves. We originally thought this was to be tomorrow, but now we're told it will be on the 16th. It will be something special whenever it's on! Try to see her exhibit at the Museum for a real treat.

Fall Schedule

Busy Quilters!

Anne Marie has made her first quilt using embroidery!!! This is from the Crossword Puzzle class that Marcy (aka "embroidery queen") just finished teaching. Anne Marie's was all about music, others used family members, and there was even some golf!! This class is running again beginning August 4th - you still have a chance to sign up!

And here is Viola's Viva Violetta (try saying that 3 times fast)! She in the middle of quilting it and is doing a wonderful job.
